Make the journey work for you
Choose a theme before a long stop list
A good starting point is one main interest: coastal scenery, city views, or a Wairarapa day out. Give us your must-see places and mark the rest as optional. Trying to include every region in a single outing can leave little time to enjoy the stops.
| Tour direction | Useful planning questions |
|---|---|
| Kāpiti coastal day | Would you prefer scenic stops, a meal break or time to walk? Where will your group begin? |
| Wellington city and harbour | Which sights matter most, and do any activities have a booked entry time? |
| Wairarapa outing | Is the focus scenery, a town visit or pre-booked food and cellar-door stops? |
Decide how much of the day is fixed
Tell Connect your earliest departure and latest return, plus any timed activity or meal. List the walking your group is comfortable with and whether you would rather spend longer at fewer stops. Explain boarding needs directly; a vehicle’s general comfort description does not establish a particular accessibility feature.
- Write one or two must-see stops.
- Mark optional stops that can be dropped if time is tight.
- Identify separately booked activities and their check-in requirements.
- Suggest an indoor alternative if an outdoor stop would depend on weather.
Use this tour brief
Send the pickup location, group size, interests and preferred date together. Add a budget if you would like it considered when discussing the transport plan, but ask for the actual quote and inclusions before booking. If you are travelling with bags after checking out of accommodation, include them in the brief.
Confirm what the tour price covers
Ask who will arrange any activity bookings, whether there are entry or meal costs to pay separately, and how the itinerary will be confirmed. Do not assume a tasting, meal, attraction admission or specialist guide is included. Connect’s published tour note says a bond may be required and is refundable if no additional cleaning is needed; ask which terms apply to your plan.
