Choose between a direct trip and connections
A booked road transfer can take your party from an agreed Masterton pickup to Wellington Airport. Public transport involves a different planning task: check the train or bus journey into Wellington and the onward airport connection for your actual date. Compare the complete journey, including the first collection and the final walk into the terminal.
Our guide to how airport shuttles work explains the booking steps. For the service itself, see Wellington Airport transfers.
| Journey choice | Check before deciding |
|---|---|
| Booked road transfer | Pickup address, agreed departure, passenger and luggage fit, and the full quoted route. |
| Public transport connection | Date-specific services, changes between services, bag handling and how the final connection meets your airline's deadline. |
Our airport transfers form part of Connect’s wider point-to-point transport service.
Work back from the terminal deadline
Send the time your airline requires you at the airport, rather than just the flight's departure time. Include any bag-drop or assistance arrangements that affect when you need to arrive. We can then discuss the pickup for your journey.
The road trip from Wairarapa needs a plan that accounts for the day's conditions. Check the official road journey planner for disruptions, and keep a contact number handy if the route or flight changes. Confirm a revised plan with us when needed.
Make the pickup address unambiguous
Give the street number, street name and Masterton pickup location. If the collection is at accommodation, name the property and the entrance you will use. Tell us about access details that matter for a group vehicle, including a meeting point away from a narrow driveway.
- Count every adult and child travelling.
- List large suitcases, cabin bags and equipment separately.
- Tell us about any boarding needs when you enquire.
- For children, explain the car seats you will bring.
Prepare the Wellington-to-Masterton return
Write a second entry for the return flight: arrival date, flight number, mobile contact and Masterton drop-off address. Agree the meeting instructions and let us know if the returning party or luggage differs from the outward trip.
For a family, work through the family airport checklist before finalising both bookings. Booking at least 24 hours ahead is encouraged, and transport between 10pm and 7am carries additional costs. Include those hours when requesting your quote.
Before you book
Does this page cover Wellington Airport rather than Masterton Airport?
Yes. This journey starts in Masterton and finishes at Wellington Airport, or runs in reverse for your return.
Can I use a fixed driving time to choose my pickup?
Send us your airline's reporting deadline and exact pickup address. Discuss the pickup for that date and route, including the time needed to load your party and bags.
