Make the journey work for you
Decide who will handle the driving
Searches for minibus hire can lead to two different products: a self-drive rental and a transport booking with a driver. With a rental, your group needs to arrange the driver, collection, parking and vehicle return. With driven transport, you agree the passenger journey with the operator.
Connect's website presents shuttle and group transport services. Use this enquiry for a driven journey. If you are comparing it with a rental, ask the rental provider separately about driver eligibility and rental terms; those conditions are not established by this page.
Compare the whole job
| Decision | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Before departure | Where passengers gather versus where a rental would be collected. |
| During the outing | Who drives, deals with parking and remains available for the return. |
| Time at the venue | A booked return pickup versus keeping a vehicle and driver for the whole visit. |
| After the trip | Passenger drop-offs versus rental refuelling and return obligations. |
A day rate and a transport quote may cover different things. Compare the agreed itinerary, not just the headline amount. There is no universal cheaper option for every group.
Count passengers, then check the load
Vehicle labels can be misleading when one advert counts seats including a driver and another describes passenger places. Give Connect the number of people who will actually travel, including children. Do not subtract a driver from your group unless that person is not travelling as a passenger.
The existing Ford Transit page describes 16 passengers and a storage trailer option, with no onboard luggage bay. That is a useful vehicle reference, but it is not confirmation of availability or a promise that any combination of bags and people fits. Include equipment, folded prams and unusual items in the request.
Choose between a return pickup and a longer itinerary
For a single venue visit, ask about an outward trip and a separately agreed return. For several stops, send each address and required time. If you want the driver to remain nearby, ask for that arrangement explicitly rather than assuming waiting is included.
- State the earliest departure and latest required return.
- Identify fixed commitments such as a reservation or check-in deadline.
- List optional stops separately so they can be assessed.
- Ask what happens if your finish time or passenger total changes.
Make your request easy to assess
View the vehicle photographs, ask which vehicle is proposed and confirm the full price and itinerary before booking. A photograph shows the published fleet, not a reserved vehicle for your date.
Before you enquire
Does this enquiry reserve the Ford Transit?
No. Ask Connect to confirm vehicle availability and suitability for the itinerary and load you provide.
Can we arrange several vehicles?
Send the complete group size and timings. Capacity beyond a single vehicle needs a specific assessment and is not promised here.
